Does anyone know what is going on with the land being cleared next to the Cumberland Farms in the Weirs area. It's on the same side of street as Cumberland. Noticed equipment working there past few days.
New development maybe ???

Actually, they removed most of the trees back in 2009. Then it sat dormant. Some activity lately, removing stumps etc. I have been trying to find out since 2009 what is going on on that land but can never get any info.

A prior thread said that a self-storage business was going to be built there, but who knows ?

What a fantastic spot for storage units overlooking Weirs Beach. I think I'll rent one next summer so when my inlaws come up they will have a nice place to stay.

Yup.....Weirs Beach has been bedeviled by terrible zoning for years.

It was a sustainable harvest to provide limited, seasonal views for all to semi-enjoy.

It is going to be a landing base for you to ride a zip line and fall into the lake

also a cannon that shoots you out into the lake

now wouldn't that be cool!!!

Maybe instead of clearing new land they should use the property at The wide open saloon or the old surf coaster and get rid of the two biggest eyesores
