I heard Lake Wentworth was lowered this year to a level lower than ever and that lots of what used to be shallow water is now ground.

This being as low as its ever been while I had access to the lake, I'm wondering if it would be possible to walk the entire 'shore'. Does anyone know? would it be trespassing to walk past people's shorefront homes even though its normally lake.

thanks,
Wolfegirl

Property owners own only down to the "High water mark" of the shore. Technically my dock is in state property!

One thing to keep an eye on is milfoil. I have heard that one way to kill milfoil is to freez it. It would be interesting to see if any affected areas that freeze this Winter clear up in the Spring.

Both Crescent Lake and Lake Wentworth have been lowered drastically to undertake repairs on the Whitten Neck Road Bridge. So far the water has been dropped over three feet. See link below for the lake level chart. Click for Lake Chart (http://www.lwa.org/index.php?option=com_wrapper&wrap=waterlevel&Itemid=43)

I remember this topic discussed in the forum before. The private property line ends at the high water point on the land. It is not trespassing for you to walk on dry shorefront land that is normally under water at full pool.

Homeowners may not be too excited about it but I believe it is legal.

Enjoy your walk.
