A few phone pics from my closing weekend. The types of images I store in my head to keep me sane until April...

Have you ever kept your place open all winter?

Just trying to get my bearings. What's the name of those hills on the other side of the Lake? Great photos, by the way.

I miss it already....
I believe the hills in the 3rd photo are the "Ossipee Mountains and the triple hump in the 5th photo are the Gunstock range.

One day I opened up and saw that the picnic benches and umbrellas were gone from the Weirs site. Today I see the yellow canvas down at the Anchor Marine. Soon I guess the fire boat will be gone from wolfeboro Docks. There goes summer so I guess I'll be watching for ice-in next. I can't wait.

...And the love that I have for tis New Hampshire home...
Deb and I were in the hot tub on the holiday weekend. Lots of lights across the bay.
Now fewer, and fewer. The earth rotates, the seasons change and we move on.
To the tune "TAPS"...
Fading lights,
Across the Bay
Summer folks leave for homes,
far away.
Winter well,
Lake friends dear.
Spring is near.
PS. Grant: If your Boat house is in Winter Harbor I may have skinny dipped there! We must talk.

The Belknaps to the south, the Ossipees to the north, and the Sandwich Range to the west-northwest.

We had two nice days to finish the closing of the camp. We left Welch about noon today and then stopped at Patrick's for lunch and a beer (or two). We may get out in November for a visit in the Whaler and/or a walk out in winter. Otherwise we are waiting for ice out 2012.:D
