Found this steam boat recently in Meredith waters. Hand measured it at about 40’. I would call it a steam launch but could have been a full blown steam boat, roof and all;
Pointed at both ends, just like the 40’ steel hulled vessel off the Weirs, vs. fantail or flat. Wood not metal hull though. Classic 1800’s-era construction. Hull in great shape. Fore and aft topsides still there. Looks like so many to have been scuttled-no machinery but a drive shaft about 20 feet long still there. Looked for a name etc. nothing.
Boat lists to one side exposing entire hull and keel; No holes that I could see. I will photograph it sometime. Not on chart.
Scans make it look like different vessels but of course it's the same steamer. I will try for some better scans another day.
