Today I visiting with friends over in Robert's Cove. They said that they heard that Britney Spears owns the house on the right ( up on the hill) as you boat into Alton Bay. Is this fact or fiction?

According to the NH Appraisal database (http://data.visionappraisal.com/AltonNH/search.asp), there is no home owned by Britney Spears in Alton (at least as of July 29, 2011). Maybe she purchased it under another name, or via a Trust?

Steven Tylers home is on Sunapee (not that he doesn't have more than one). You can't see it from the road as you have to drive down a private posted road and his neighbors work very hard to protect his privacy.

It is quite a discreet home, minus one feature that I have never seen on another house, anywhere.

Joe Perry's place is down in Georges Mills and is more in the open than Steven's.

Quite possibly the ugliest thing I have ever seen.

I thought I was driving past something that belongs on the Candy Land board game. It's hideous...belongs in Vegas maybe, but certainly not up here.

Oh well...to each his own I guess. But I don't think that pair of doctors will ever be accused of having good taste.

This rumor has been popping up on this forum since at least 2004. Just search on "Britney" and you'll see the many threads.

Recently someone posted that Lady Gaga was building a house here when it was actually happening on Martha's Vineyard. That is how rumors get started.

While many celebrities do quietly slip in and out of the Lakes Region (there are several threads about that) it seems unlikely that young celebs like Britney or Gaga would be happy here. They like the parties, attention and being surrounded by the rich and famous. They also need at least one Starbucks per square mile ;).

My neighbor did the interior trim work in that house. Never mentioned Ms. Spears, but he said it has over 1 mile of crown moulding in it.
