GPS Outages and Solar Flares

I don't know how much of this is hype or not - or what the severity is - but I figured I'd repost to make people aware.

And my standard advise, as always: A GPS or any other electronic device is never a substitute for constant vigilance, careful navigation, and proper seamanship.

Just watched Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman. On one of the shows they talk about how solar flairs affect electronics. and in the case of a major solar flair, well not something we even want to think about. I think it is on Sci-Fi channel.
