I am trying to find out information about a place I visited on Lake Winnipesaukee as a child in the mid-late 1970's. I am pretty sure it was located in the town of Meredith, NH. It was directly on the Lake.
It was a large two story white, rustic farm house, up on a hill with a huge stone fireplace in a great room. I went there with some neighbors and their kids and from what I can remember we referred to it as "The Lodge". The neighbor I went with was a member of the local (Massachusetts) Elks club and my memory is that this vacation lodge on the lake was owned by the Elks organization and could be reserved or rented by any Elks member.
I am just trying to find out if the place still exists or perhaps it has been sold and turned into something else. I don't see any reference to it on any Elks website.
It was one of the happiest vacations I ever had and a great childhood memory of swimming in the lake.
Any info would be most appreciated as so far searching the internet has turned up nothing for me.
Thanks!
