"When I was growing up ('50's) every year our family would rent this cute little boathouse on the lake. I remember the family that owned it had Victorian house across the street from the lake, filled with antiques. They also sometimes let us stay in their home until the boathouse was ready.
Our apartment was upstairs(obviously!) and had a cute balcony hanging right over the lake. My brother's use to dive off it right into the water. There was also a HUGE rock right next to it,in the water.
I wish I could find it....I saw a picture a few years ago in Travel and Leisure Magazine of the boathouse . It had been renovated...painted yellow and repaired. I was in a doctors office and was too embarrassed to Rip out the photo. It just haunts me. I have such wonderful memories. At noon, when the steamboat would go by, we would jump in our tubes and ride the waves......sure wish I could ask my Dad, where exactly it was...
Any suggestions ?"
Can anyone help out this person? I am happy to pass on any info the person who posted the comment.
Thanks.
