Now that the Christmas store next to the Town Docks in Meredith has officially closed and ceased operation, does anyone have any idea/details on what this property will be used for in the future?

I read in the paper a few months back as they were getting ready to close that Rusty may be using the building as a seasonal place to hold or rent kayaks summer stuff activities.....my guess another Common Man Restaurant.

While plans for the property are still evolving, McLear envisions the building becoming an "activity center" for winter sports and summer lake activities where people could rent skates in the winter or a canoe or sailboat in the summer among other things.

Some big construction of very upscale hotel suites and amenities on the Christmas Loft site starting in maybe October and to be completed in time for summer, 2012. Very recently, the local newspaper had a lengthy article on it.

I thought the construction was further down the waterfront The Boathouse and The Birch I think.....11 rooms and/or suites with a update on a house they bought just off the water....

Yesterday's Union Leader had a big article and it sounds like the Christmas Loft re-do will be a BIG MONEY, super up-scale construction project that starts construction next fall. Couldn't make a working link but maybe someone can? Every one of the Mills Falls wf hotels looks like very expensive designer construction which is a good thing. If you build cheap, it will always looks like a cheapie. Just take a quick look at the Landmark Inn in Laconia......it may be very nice on the inside but not so nice looking on the outside....which is very centrally located at the intersection of Union Ave and Main St, and directly on the Winnipesaukee River! How long will that ugly building be there and just imagine what good business The Landmark would have done for Laconia if that was a real attractive hotel designer building?
A project like Christmas Loft re-do puts a lot of local construction guys to work too, while they build something that should be looking good and building visiter business for the next hundred years.
Is there any chance the new construction could include a giant sized, indoor ice skating arena just for a backup for the Pond Hockey event for when the natural ice gets a little too rough???:):D

I've always wondered why the Landmark Inn doesn't get bought out by a hotel chain. It could be renovated and become a Hampton Inn, a Courtyard Marriott, Hilton, etc. It could be so much more appealing.
