Agree. I'm actually a representative of 1958, but thought I would give the 59-er a little cheer.

Happy B'Day from a fellow Taurian? Today's mine and, by the way, the best year is 1953. You do the math. :(

Just some of the highlights from '53: There are many more...
Detroit Lions Win the NFL Championship Now, how often does THAT happen?
Playboy magazine first issue features Marilyn Monroe as its first cover girl and nude centerfold. Guess I was too young.
Kraft Cheez Whiz is introduced. That's unfortunate...
I turned 50 this year and the thing that struck me the most, was for the first time in my life I was older then the President. I've got over three months on BHO.
It makes me feel older than a lot of the other 50 milestones.
Edit: yes I know that I've been older than the current President, since he was sworn in two years ago, but it didn't hit me until my birthday.

Dam when you were born I had put in 6 years in the Navy and had been out for 4 years.
Whoops, I guess some may say that I'm old, but I sure do not feel it in my heart. Just the body is a tad bit slower getting going and getting the aches out when I arise in the morning. http://i54.tinypic.com/nxmfwz.gif I still love my bride after 50 years and have fun with the grand kids.

GTXrider turns 57 today, and lucky for him he gets to spend it at the lake. Hope the fishing in the rain isn't too bad. This isn't the best week to have vacation, but as they say "A bad day at the lake is better than a good day at work".

The Alton Marine Police did not care for the year 1957 that was the year that the Puddy Tat was launched and did we have fun with the Marine Patrol. Lots of fun memories of those days. gas (with oil added) was only 35 cents per gallon.. We used up 600.00 in 1960. Dad worked mon-fri as did my grandfather, We stayed at camp most of the summer, Dad would give us $5.00, Grandma would give us $5.00, and Gramps would take us down and filled the tank. of coarse when they got back up there they would always say bet you got less than a quarter tank, lets go. Where are they now when the gas is over $4.00 per gallon. Oh its my turn for my kids.:eek:

John - Thanks for the memories of Puddy Tat and the cheap gas. That boat was everywhere and the bane of the Alton Bay Marine Patrol. But you and the rest of us kids had a ball riding in her.
