Hi there.
Does anyone know of a resource where I can find out if a road is paved or not?
It would be helpful to know for our house hunting adventures.

Right now I'm wondering about Kelley Pond Road (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=52+Kelley+Pond+Rd,+New+Hampton,+NH+03256&daddr=&hl=en&geocode=CRpDPhXkioZhFReGmQIdIkG7-ympOZRoIU-zTDEhsMjaCVI6Ug&mra=prev&sll=43.606996,-71.611376&sspn=0.039962,0.079479&ie=UTF8&ll=43.61607,-71.61571&spn=0.019978,0.03974&z=15) in New Hampton. In runs off of Sinclair Hill Rd. , which is off 104.

Link is to Google map.

You can always check Town's public GIS systems, for information like that, including sewer, water, drainage, zoning, etc

Just call the town hall, probably the quickest and surest way to find out. Usually a wealth of other useful info also.

How do I check the town's GIS system? And what IS a GIS system?

Thanks.

Only a few of the smaller towns up here have a Graphical Information System (GIS). It would show tax maps and other info in graphical layers. If one is available for public viewing the town web site probably has a link such as the Gilford site.

If a call to a Town Hall does not find someone with road status knowledge, ask how to contact the Highway Agent AKA Road Agent or Highway Dept.

Cate, you absolutley want the call the New Hampton police dept. and ask them on average, how many times in a one week period they respond to calls on that particular rd.

I just had a very nice conversation with Police Chief Salmon and got the scoop on this area. A few incidents over the years, but nothing that speaks of a weekly trend of crime or police calls. Thanks for recommending I call the local police. They are an excellent resource for finding out about what goes on in and around town. I just may call some other towns now.:D

Your real estate agent should be able to provide that information.

I believe that NNEREN/Innovia listings will only show if the road is public or private.
