I went to the show today. It was pretty crowded. Some nice boats from from the many marinas around the lake. There were more pontoon boats than anything however, probably 3 to 1!!
I didn't buy any boats, but I did end up walking out with a new flag pole for the camp. It's a real beauty. 20' tall with double flag attachments and collapsible!! It wasn't cheap but it sure is well made and being collapsible makes it real convenient.
Anyone else go??

Didn't go last year, but we met our friends who live down there and they said it seemed bigger than last year, and that this year there were more family boats than last year.
Spent a lot of time looking at the 27 foot Azure at Channel Marine display. Nice boat. Really nice boat. I mean really nice boat. Hmmmmmmmmmmm

Mrs T & I went yesterday. Although she grew up on Winni skiing, fishing has taken over so we went primarily to check out fishing boats.
Was hoping to see more of those, but good show overall.

I owned a 20ft. Azure deck boat for four years. probably It was the best boat I ever owned. I allmost at the time bought the 27 ft. but descided the 20 ft. was best for me at the time. Since then have moved up to a four Winns vista cruiser.

Thanks. We are just looking for more room on the boat. Our 19ft is tight with two adults in the bow, and when running around the lake, if everyone wants to sit in the helm area, two people are sitting facing aft, unless they swing sidewards and then they are playing kneesies. (not bad, depending on the other knees involved :emb:)
The head area is quite spacious. We had met friends down there and afterwards went out to sit, relax, and discuss. The other wife said "We save all our lives for a rainy day...today it's pouring outside!!!!". Well, today we have the umbrella up, but as I said above: "Hmmmmmmmmmm!"
thanks for your input.
Here's to a great summer again this year.

Dan, would you be willing to divulge the cost of that collapsible flag pole? How heavy is it?
Thanks, IG

The one I bought was a little more than the typical as I got mine powder coated white over anodized aluminum. It's also 20' tall. The basic cost of the flag pole was $319.00 Add the solid anodized aluminum dock mounting base for $64.00 and of course the 12" natural eagle with gold ball top for an additional $59.00 for total value saving price of...$442.00  I figured nothing is too good for Old Glory! :)
I will say this, it is the best flag pole I have ever seen. Guaranteed not to fail with up to 90 MPH winds with two flags on it!! (Being on the west side of Welch you can bet that will be tested!!) Also no strings to get tangled and completely collapsible and extremely lightweight.

I went. Nice little show. Had a nice conversation with the Marine Patrol rep. who was there. Talked about speed limits, safety regs, etc. Pleasant young gentleman. Also spoke with the gentleman staffing the Yo Adrian booth. Spoke of catch and release and proper release techniques as well as the health of the salmon population. Also a nice and educational conversation.
I did not realize speed limits were being raised. Anyone know the facts?
Ice out last week in April will bring on the fishing.

I believe the daytime limit was raised to 55 and the night time to 30.
I don't think it has passed yet. It was passed by one, I think the Senate but still needs to be passed by the House. And it is 55 only out in the broads. I think it is SB 27. I am sure you can find it on the Lake Issues section.
