Seeing as the moon is going to be really close to the Earth, and the Sun, Moon, and Earth are going to do some alignment thing, I believe the ice will break open and the earths core will spit hot magma into the lake and warm it up enough to melt all the ice in an hour.
Or, maybe it will make my pizza dough rise quicker.....well, maybe not. It ought to make for a great pictures if it is clear out that night though.:D

Well hon, I hope you're right. May the ice melt, may your pizza dough rise and the spring peepers start peeping......I'm so ready !!! Just waiting for a good spell of weather and for life to quiet down a bit here and I'll be up for a much needed "time out".

With all of the great photographers out here on Winni.com, I'll bet there are some other, much better, pics that will be posted.

This was taken down by the fields at Beans and Greens facing ESE.

Heck I posted the topic and I didn't take on picture....I actually didn't even see the moon until it was up and I didn't think it all that spectacular...Oh well, maybe in 2029.:D I'll be 70 years old....Well maybe not.....:laugh:

I decided to "create" my own reality with this event. Pix and brief comments here: http://lakesregionspirit.com/lrsmag/uncategorized/the-perigee-moon/

I thought I would share some pics of the Super moon from a car forum that I belong to. These pics are big and not mine.
I told people on the car forum about the Canon SX30IS and one guy went out and bought one. These pics show the power of that little cameras telephoto and stabilization prowess. All from a $400.00 camera.....
You can actually see crater depth in the picture from 221,000 miles away. Pretty good for a point and shoot camera.

and this is a negative of the same shot....

I grabbed the camera, forgot the tripod, so I had to hand hold the camera.
