Can anyone give me recommendations on a contractor to install a perched beach and work through the permitting process?

Thanks,

Watermark Marine Construction - Gilford. 293-4000 They did mine about 10 years ago and it still looks as good as the day they finished. They take care of the permitting and construction.

Thanks Little Bear. I will contact them. Does anyone know of a similar out fit in the Moultonboro/Wolfeboro area?

I am pretty sure Beckwith Builders is still doing them and do the permitting also.

Island Support or Diversified can handle the install. As far as permitting, ISS probably has someone for that. I have heard that Cynthia Folsom is good for permitting as well. The permitting process is really not hard to do yourself. Diversified started mine and I ended up finishing it myself.

Yes, I have heard that about Cindy too. Allen is her husband and he does the permitting for Beckwith.

What's a Perched Beach?

It is illegal to dump sand into the water and at the edge on shore to create a beach. If you do not have a natural beach area and want to add one you have to do it above the high water mark. The typical perched beach has granite steps that descend into the water and is circled by pavers or stone. Here is what ours looks like from the high side to give you an idea.
