Hey, I usually drive my Jeep from Meredith to Long Island and vice versa to shave off a good 20 mins of driving on roads...With the ice looking this weird, it kinda makes me nervous to do that....Is the ice still thick enough to do this? Ice looks scary lol.

I would NOT try it any more this season.
Once (and if) you get onto the ice, you will probably be fine for a few more days. You may find a spot to get on, but then see the ice cracked behind you and now must locate some other place to exit.
The shore lines are taken a beating from the sun, rain and fog combination that has been going on. I did not personally see one vehicle on the ice Friday or Saturday (when you could see out on the ice--fog) Many bobhouses have been pulled already. The bubblers around docks are spreading the open water much further away.
IMHO not worth the risk.

I think it'd be wise to suck up the extra 20 mins of driving.
