Went to Wolfeboro yesterday, and I noticed that the water seemed to be flowing out to the main lake. Is this because the water was going outward at lakeport? It's kinda funny to see flowing water coming out of there!

The water generally flows under the bridge and into the Lake. The water you see flowing under the bridge started several feet above the Lake, has gone through at least two smaller lakes and a river and over at least two dams. The velocity of this flow is related to rainfall and dam height. Just recently the dam was lowered to allow a drawdown of Lake Wentworth. This produced a substantial current under the bridge. All in all, considering the extremely large area the Lake covers, this water flow under the bridge is not a factor in the overall height of the Lake. The height of the Lake is managed at the Lakeport dam and is determined by several factors about which I am not very smart. There is a State site which will answer these questions.

"....has gone through at least two smaller lakes and a river and over at least two dams." ....specifically from Lake Wentworth and into Crescent Lake before it enters the Smith River and empties over this dam, at Wolfeboro Falls, into Back Bay. That's a lot of water!
