While the calender says December 13, it looks and feels a lot more like April 13. With temperatures in the 40 to 50 degree range and rain over the last two days measured in inches, it just don't feel like December 13.

For an up to date map showing the snow cover and depths in New England, suggest you google 'NOAA snow cover map, new england' to see what's the latest on the white stuff!

Walking around Waterville Valley, about 1600' elevation, the golf course is still very green grass, zero snow cover, and the sand traps and clay tennis courts are all look'n very white with a tiny dust'n of ice particles. Look'n at the evergreen trees, there's drops of rain water that got froze in action sometime last night before they could drip off the pine boughs. Up above maybe 2500' elevation all the trees got frosted with frozen rain water that reflects the sunlight. So, where-o-where is the snow cover....most years there's snow cover here from November 8 to April 5, but not this year?
