It is a beautiful, chilly morning out here on Serpent Island. As the season comes to a close I have been thinking about the beauty and peacefulness of this wonderful place.

We are blessed with the clear water and the magnificient mountains surrounding us. This is a wonderful place for healing. Although we had a lot of rain and cool days, it has been a good season for me and one filled with a suportive family and wonderful friends.

I continue to be in awe of all of you who take the time to post here, comment on the photopost pictures and cheer each other on. This website has been a great part of my personal joy in the past year.

I look forward to the coming months as the lake changes its form to provide another source of enjoyment for us. I am hoping that Snake Eyes (http://www.rattlesnakecam.com/) stays up so we can see the ice forming.

Thank you all for being here. Keep coming!

This is indeed an amazing "cyber community" of wonderful people, who truly care about one another and our common love - Winni! In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, I believe we all find a haven here, a place where we find common ground and kindred souls. As the site has developed over the years, adding photopost and so many other wonderful features, there's been so many opportunities for different folks to contribute and participate - each one adding to the overall. It's truly amazing! The friendships forged are uncountable, and the future is infinite! God bless Don our truly selfless and wonderful webmaster for providing us this venue, and all the great people who participate and enrich the site and each other's lives!

Thank you Island Girl!! for all your wonderful photoposts over the season. They give us folks who can't make it to the Big Lake as often as we like a great way to feel connected. And a big thank you to Don for the same reason. This site is an oasis, during those crazy turns life throws you. It's nice to know the most peaceful place around, is just a click away. Thank you again!!

Your photo certainly captures the beauty and peacefulness of the lake, IG. And the Forum has become a wonderful place to learn from each other, share ideas, disagree at times (do we ever do that?? :rolleye2: ) and make new friends.

As one season begins to wind down, the next one will soon take its place. The September days are still warm, but the nights are beginning to get chilly and the smell of wood smoke will soon be in the air. Fall foliage season is coming soon, as well, when brilliant colors will be all around us.

You're right, the lake is a wonderful place to be.

You're right, the lake is a wonderful place to be.

As my Mom has said so many times, "there is nowhere else in the world I would rather be". It is important to remember how truly blessed we are to have a place like we do. I really do believe that when one looks closely, they can see "the smile of the great spirit". God Bless you all and this wonderful place we are all so closely connected to.

It was so wonderful to have those 2 glorious weeks there. I hadn't forgotten how beautiful it is, but it had been a LONG time since my last visit.
The afternoon I went to Long Island on Moultonborough Neck was a perfect day.
It was almost enough to make me want to move back, but that will change come winter.

Thanks for the great pictures and for the web site too! It has been three weeks since I was at "the lake" ,as my family calls it, and I miss it so much. This site is the next best thing to being there! I log on 2 - 3 times per day just to get my Winni fix. Look forward to seeing more pix and postings.
Thanks
