Anyone moose hunting? I passed on a young looking "bull". He only looked 2 years old, But haven't seen anything else so far. I am in the Ossipee/ Tuftonboro area.

I rarely see moose in the immediate area. How large is the population? Do they congregate anywhere particular? How many tags do they give out locally? Good luck with your hunt and please post some photos if you get one.
Last week one ran across the road just past Christmas island going toward weirs beach, it ran in front of a car about 2 cars in front of me. It happened very fast and my wife got a better look at it than I did but it was not a large moose. Then my wife was riding her bike in Moultonborough (Hauser Estates area) and she stopped to take a rest when she heard a noise only to be about 10 - 15 feet from a black bear (not large but also not a baby) sitting down leaning against a tree eating some leaves and branches. She got back on the bike and rode away to a safer distance (keeping an eye out for mom) and took some pictures.

Nothing to post except that I can up without one this year. We still have all year long to avoid them in our cars though!

And why do we want to tell the hunters where to find these beautiful beasts?
I do know why hunting is necessary and that moose hunting is done by lottery (http://www.wildnh.com/Hunting/Hunt_species/hunt_moose.htm).

Cool video. That moose is so unafraid! Glad we didn't see the hunter shoot it. ;)
After having a friend on his motorcycle get charged by a bull moose a few years ago in the fall, I would be very nervous that close to any moose. He had slowed way down to view the creature and it went nuts. He suffered a broken collar bone and his girlfriend ended up with all sorts of facial reconstruction. The bike was totaled. If memory serves, it was in or around the Lakes Region.
