Anyone here have experience with Glastron 237 Futura’s ???

I’m thinking of an upgrade to a heavier hull than my 23 Carlson and I have always liked the look of the Futura’s and I just found a couple listed for sale. Unfortunately they are not close, so I cannot just plan an afternoon to go look one over and go for a test ride,,,

Funny thing is there was one for sale on this site last year that I missed,,, oh well cant turn the clock back,,,

So if anyone here can comment on how good this model is on a lake like Winnipesaukee, ride quality and quality of the boat overall, I’m all ears.

Thanks

I don't know the boat but it looks like a good Winni hull.

Looks a lot like my Baja all nose and sun pad with zero cockpit room.
My Baja is an awesome lake boat but lacks any room to move around once you stop.
That boat does have nice lines and a wrap around windshield.
If I was investing in a used boat I’d pay the money to have it professionally inspected.

There is a guy that lives down the road from me that has one and he absolutely loves it. Same boat same color, not sure it's the same year. If you have any specific questions let me know I can relay them and get you answers.

BTW - He bought it last year, may be the same one? It sits on a red tandem trailer. Looks like a nice ride to me.

Ha, too funny,,, Guess it is a small world after all,,,

Yes I would be very interested to hear what he has to say about it.

I'm trying to gauge how well it rides in a moderate chop, my Carlsons beat you up in anything over a foot,,,

Also looking to find out if he has had any problems with the floor or transom being soft or any other structural issues?

Just about anything else he cares to share, before I go out on a limb as all the ones I am finding are a good distance away,,,,

Thanks much and if you prefer, I cam PM you my contact info and maybe avoid the relaying if he is willing to contact me directly. Either way is good by me.

Many Thanks for the offer!

From what I can see of the interior pictures, this one is a little better than many others in the cockpit space department, not great but ok.

My preference would be to add 2 feet right in the middle and have a modest u-shaped rear seat and a bunch of open space.

I like the big sundeck, and only need a modest cabin but the trend is to add space in the cabin not the cockpit,,,

The other problem I am running into is overall depth and cockpit depth. When most modern boats hit the 23 - 26 ft range they start getting real deep and thats not what I am looking for, I want something better than my flat bottom 23 ft Carlson, but not as deep and most modern boats. I'm just not looking to be sitting 4 feet above the water,,,

Thanks
