Anyone had any recent experiences with this? Thinking of taking the kids tonight but i had a few unanswered questions.
1.There is a "temp" screen... how is it? Must not be that bad if they are still using it.
2. They have 4 double features. Can you mix and match movies? We wanna see one from one screen and one from another (not at once).
3. They suggest bringing lawn chairs. Is it too buggy or do you think it would be okay with some bug spray?
4. Can you bring food in? ie; pick up McDonalds for the kids on the way.
This sounds like a great deal and their aren't many left in New England.
Thanks in advance for the info,

...my daughter and her boyfriend went two nights ago and I've been several times with all the kids.
1. I have not personally seen the "temp" screen"...sorry.
2. You can mix and match movies, although you may have to miss the end of one or the beginning of the another, depending on what time they end.
3. I usually sit in a lawn chair with bug spray. If you go tonight, dress warm. It's going down into the high 40's.
4. And you can bring food in. Just don't advertise it. They can't search your car or anything. We did the same thing, although it wasn't McD's. We stopped at a grocery store for all the junk food (chips, soda, candy, etc.).
I always get a kick out of it. It's the only one around in the areas I frequent. There's one in Wellfleet but I'm only down there once a year if I'm lucky. I'm 37 and watching old movies with drive-ins in them and hearing my parents talk about them fascinates me.
I say go for it. If you have a pick up truck (or access to one), sitting in the bed of the truck in lawn chairs is the way to go. You're obviously higher up and have a better view of the screen.
One last thing. If you do stay for both movies and your kids are little, be prepared to carry them into the house when you get home. I think the last movie ends well after midnight.
Have fun and report back to us to let us know how it went.
And don't forget to dress warm if you're going tonight! We bring old blankets and pillows and have a slumber party in the bed of the truck!!

When the kids were little we went to the drive in all the time. RG came up with a brilliant invention to battle the mosquitoes that did not involve burning piece of dung in the window. (PIC)
In the olden days (the early 90s) they sold these white nets to put over a baby stroller. RG took these nets and stretched them over the front doors of the mini van and then closed the doors. You look like a dork but being able to keep the windows open with zero mosquitoes is worth it.

Isn't 'Off' (bug spray) the official aftershave and perfume of NH, anyhow?
Slap on some bug dope and don't worry 'bout it. :D

Just went a week ago...
The temp screen(s) are fine, don't worry about it. The main screen is displayed smaller than the old main screen, but it's still plenty big enough and we had no problem seeing the movie.
They staggered the movie start times so that they all ended about the same time. Key word there is 'about', so you will have to keep an eye on what is going on. You can switch if you want to. Moving the car might be difficult, but moving your chairs (and your radio beat box to tune in to the sound) is pretty easy.
Last year the mosquitoes were bad...this year they were non-existent. Bug spray as desired...
They don't check for food on the way in, so you could easily bring stuff in from outside. I wouldn't drive through the gate with an open beer, but other than that I think it's OK.
Check the website...they have coupons for popcorn, which is better purchased fresh than brought in anyway!

The Best MOVIE what I ever saw there was ( Pete Kelly's Blues ).
Jack Webb, Janet Leigh, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Jayne Mansfield and Lee Marvin.
Now, I had to go buy some popcorn, so if I left anyone out, do the same for me! :)
It was an Awesome Movie though! And We All Have It Way Too Good Here In The Lakes Region :look: :look: :) :)

Thanks to all for your input, it worked out perfectly. What a deal! 2 first run movies, privacy for the family (not having to worry about disrupting others with my loud little family, lol) brought dinner in with us... all for $17. Can't beat it. We will be doing it again.
Some suggestions for next time-
bring a small boombox style radio for the lawn chairs.
a small flashlight
more comfy chairs.
The bugs were non existent and the weather was perfect, I highly recomend this for a family.
thanks again,

Had that same problem...somehow, windows fogged up, and car filled with smoke. Made it tough to see. Where did all that smoke come from...and where's my bag of chips??!!
"look at those poor kids in that car"
"why do you think they are poor"
"they are all sharing the same cigarette"
I think the last time I went to the drive in was to see the original "Dawn of the Dead" probably in 1978 at the long gone Nashua Drive-in. Scary movies were always more fun.
I'm a feeling nostalgic trip to the Weirs maybe in order. Do they play the good movie first or second?

Let's have it at the drive-in!!!
Or why don't a bunch of us meet there and have a blast? Now I want to goto the drive-in. Would it be weird (i.e. creepy) if I went by myself?
Just kidding...I know the answer to that question.
