Last week I went out on Squam Lake to view the Eagle's nest there. There were two very large Eaglets in the nest and Mom was in a tree nearby. The Eaglets were so big that they could not both spread or flap their wings at the same time in the nest.

I went on the Eagle tour that is given by the folks at the Squam Lake Science Center and the tour was given by Iain MacLeod. The nest is located on a small island on Squam Lake and those Eaglets were ready to leave anytime.

It is so exciting to see Bald Eagles thriving here in the Lakes Region.

A friend of mine just came back from a cruise to Alaska aboard the Pearl. He got a picture of a Bald Eagle nest with a baby chick in it. I was told that these pictures are very hard to get. One in 20,000 pictures actually has a chick in it.
Now this is not by a professional. I mean 1 in 20000 visitors to the area get that shot. I don't know how true that is but I was told this by a guy that shoots wildlife pictures in Alaska.
While these eaglets are a bit larger....you still have a great pic.
Awesome job.:D
