Alton Bay - Iwent to my first ever postcard show on this past Sunday sponsored by the New England Society of Postcard Fanatics (or something like that....there are fanatics for EVERY pastime!) As I was at a booth browsing through Lakes Region postcards a gentleman struck up a conversation. Turns out he was the "Postcard Proprietor" of that wonderful postcard booth at CountryTyme Antiques in Belmont that recently burnt down. Happy to report that all of his stock that was lost were cards that he also had at home. Also all of his really good stuff was at home and NOT lost in the fire! He promised me unusual images of the Oak Birch Inn and some photos of the interior. Stay tuned! McD

I've bought several postcards from the "Postcard Proprietor" and when I found out about the fire, I was really worried for him. Thanks for posting this news.
