Description: Rosie had her 2nd cruise today. She is still a little unsure of being on a boat but did well. That said......when filling up at Fay's gas dock before going on our cruise Rosie decided that with me on the dock and her and Leslie in the boat it was not a good thing and she jumped right over the gunwale and onto the dock landing at my feet. To say the least Leslie and I were shocked.

Description: Nice to see someone helping a disabled boater. Actually it is someone from Fay's - That is Fay's new Triumph boat doing the towing. Heard later that the towed boat had a water manifold overheat caused by some debris in it.

She also appears to be outfitted for work with work equipment on board a items hung on hooks inside. Description: This photo was taken at the Corner Store in Moultonboro in 1954. I haven't noticed whether this wagon still sits outside?? I remember that they used to keep a HUGE wheel of cheddar cheese inside that you could hack off a piece and purchase. My family used to refer to it as "Rat Cheese"....it was fantastic!

Description: This shot is a "flash back" to the days on the lake when you could beach your boat on virtually any island on the lake to have a picnic, swim and/or camp overnight. This photo is taken at one of our favorite places to go and picnic/swim. Our family used at call it "Bare Bottom Beach" because swim suits were strictly optional equipment for the afternoon swim. The shot is actually taken on Dow Island during the summer of 1954.

Christening My New Mug

Description: My Wolfe's Tavern mug is engraved: "#2081 Roger G. Gilfert 11/28/2008" "The Sea She Be Angry Today" and will hang in the Tavern for eternity, perpetually awaiting my return. Mug owners receive a 10% discount on draft beers for life which seems like a pretty fair deal...until you compute how much it actually cost you to obtain it. With the limitation of only being able to consume two beers per visit, that translates into (in my case) 47 lunches at the tavern. Given that there were virtually always six adults at each visit (my wife plus my son and daughter and their spouses) and the fact that I always picked up the lunch & beer tab....I compute that this mug cost me in the neighborhood of $5K to obtain.
