Funny you should inquire. When we were discussing dock owners' negligence in preventing the present highwater dock damage, I planned to add my own David E. Sewall photo to the kinds of "unknowable "debris" that can impact a dock. (The David E. Sewall came ashore between a long series of docks).

Can't say I know where it is presently, though—sorry. Even Google doesn't have a mention. Why do I associate the word "Judge" with this boat?

I took that picture in 1998 I think and that was the last time I saw her.
Maybe scraped by the Wolfeboro Inn.She was replaced by the Winnipesaukee Belle.

Scrapped. There is another one now. The Winnepsaukee Bell. It is a faux side paddle wheeler.

Default Sunk?

There was talk that the Sewell was to be sunk as a dive site. I don't know if that ever happened.

I think they did eventually sink it. It was a very big deal as they had to get lots of approvals, but I think they did get them all. You associate Judge with it because it was called the Judge Sewell. It came out of Portland Maine where it was called the Longfellow.

'Should have checked the Old Forum.

Bizer states that the M/V Judge Sewell was dismantled.

Too bad. The M/V Judge Sewell was less like a double-decker tour bus than its replacement, IMHO.

Yeah, they had to take much of it apart. But I still thought they sunk at least part of the hull after everything was removed. That is interesting to find out-I just can't remember for sure. I know a couple of people who will remember for sure. I will ask them.

Default It's Been Dismantled.

The owners of Dive Winnipesaukee told me that they attempted to get permits to sink it for a diving site but were unsuccessful. I think they said it was towed to Lee's Mills, dismantled and hauled to the dump.

Too bad. It would have been a neat dive site.
