There was an ad in the Granite State news this week that it was open for the season.

Thumbs down What's up at Wolfetrap this season?!

We have been going to Wolfetrap for the past several summers, always had a good meal and good time. Not this year....

Crab Cakes were clearly packaged brand and the presentation lacked in a big way - the three fried cakes were tossed into a basket resting atop of pile of very pale (didnt look cooked) french fires. It was unappealing and appauling at $18.95!!!! The lobster bisque thankfully was good as always - but one cannot rely on bisque and an attractive and pleasant server to carry the day! The "shrimp on the barbie" - give me a break!! Again $17.95 bought me two skewers of shrimp which had BBQ (tasted like Market Basket Brand) sauce poured on the top...they were both laid on top of undercooked and bland diced peppers and very gloppy "garlic" (though it was hard to taste any) smashed potatoes...

Are they under new management? New cooks?

Oh yeah - one last gripe...

You go to the Wolfetrap to either sit outside on the bay or at the very least to sit at a window overlooking the bay...so WHY at 5pm when the place is very quiet did that snippy little hostess - who was busy pouting to everyone about not getting to waitron that day - try to sit EVERY SINGLE person/family who came in at the first table (3 away from a window!)

A TWO THUMBS DOWN DINNER - this phantom diner was unsatisfied with his annual visit to the wolfetrap....it'll probably serve as our last at those meals for those prices!
