Thumbs up Poker Run 8/17 to Benefit NH Humane Society in Meredith

Hey Forum,

I wanted to tell you about a Poker Run this Sunday (I know - last minute Mary). Anyway, it's a land run so cars and bikes are welcomed. The organizers aren't very computer savvy so I'm trying to help them out by getting the word out!

Entry is only $10.

Departure is from the Weirs Beach Smokehouse (right next to the Drive-In) at 10:30 am, Sunday 8/17.

Stops will be in Bristol, and Holderness and Ashland.

Return to the Smokehouse to get your final Poker chip and play your hand.

Best Hand wins half the pot.

There are also going to be some great raffles from the Sponsors including the Big Catch Restaurant, Patrick's Pub, the Smokehouse and the Common Man.

If you're looking for a nice ride on a nice day, come on out for a great cause!!! The Humane Society really needs all the help they can get this summer - people are even dropping off horses they can't afford to feed!!!!

Let 'em know the Forum sent ya when you sign up.

Thanks!!!!

Default Thanks to those who supported us

Well only 6 riders showed up, which was incredibly disappointing given the great weather, but those 6 folks and some great and generous patrons of the Weirs Beach Smokehouse who purchased poker hands while dining, helped us raise more than $150 for the NH Humane Society in Meredith. The winning hand was a diamond flush and the winner collected $140.

Thanks to Dick Cartier (informally known as the Mayor of Weirs Beach) who organized the event and all of you who donated or helped out!

I know - the bill board at the Smokehouse and several fliers inside was the only place I saw it so I posted it here but didn't get all the details until Satuday which was too late. Sorry.

I love Poker Runs and would have gone if I had know about it. They should advertise more and they'll get more people to participate. Pretty simple really.

Default I agree...

I agree "redc5". I guess some volunteers dropped the ball and it was too late when the others found out to fix it or change the date.
