But others who don't inquire have sometimes given a heart attack to those of us who live near the bridge!

We have a 26' four winns bowrider and at full lake we have maybe 3" to spare so in a pontoon-you got no chance. go around!

How hard is it to "DROP" the Bimini?

Either direction with the Bimini Up will take you "AROUND" the Outer edges of LONG ISLAND.

GOOD LUCK!

GOOD LUCK!
It's heavy and cumbersome, so we go around.

I'd gone under one at Massabessic when my current toon was new. rested the biminni flat, took of the wind screen and forgot about the tow bar, cleared it by a hair. My kids were traumatized.

Default A little math

Go to the Bizer website, click on lake level and scroll down to bridge heights. The example there is for the Long Island bridge. If you know your height above waterline, plus things like biminis, then get the current lake height from the DES graph - link also on that page-- and follow the Bizer example with your data and subtract your boat's data from the calculated clearance. I set up an Excel calculation on my phone so all I do is plug in the current Lake level. Helpful for me when the Lake is at or near full. To allow for safety, if the margin is 3 inches or less, I go around.

Or pull up to the bridge and stop to look if you will make it.

I was coming up on the bridge last year following a pontoon boat. Just as they were about to go under the bridge the three people on board jumped up and just in the nick of time the top crashed down and they made it under. They almost had a really bad day.
