The Flying Monkey
If you haven't been to the Flying Monkey Performance Center in Plymouth, you're really missing out on a great place to see live music and have a great meal.
I have been twice so far, once to see Robin Trower last summer and just this past Saturday night I saw Johnny Winter there. Both shows were amazing! They also have areas sectioned off with tables where you can have dinner while watching the show. The food is excellent and is brought in by the "Common Man". Beer and wine is also served but no hard liquor. They have a pretty diverse lineup of artists that should quench everyone's musical interest. They are very organized and all seats are reserved in advance so there is no waiting in line or no need to rush and get there two hours early. The inside is nicely decorated and all tables are candle lit. The acoustics within the Monkey are also great! It really is a fun place to go! For a fun night out with good music and good food, check out the Flying Monkey! http://flyingmonkeynh.com/ Dan |

two part review - both great!
we went to the Flying Monkey last night for the first time to see Southside Johnny (sans Jukes)...
First the venue - I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. We had a table for four so we could eat dinner there too. Got started with fresh made popcorn and Common Man Ale, and ordered dinner. The menu is a trimmed back Common Man fare. The others had Prime Rib and reported it as excellent, I had the crab stuffed Sole which was also excellent! Finished off with chocolate cake and ice cream (trying to live up to the PIG moniker), all very yummy... And the show - Have been a fan of Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes since the late 70's and been to see them a few times, always a great show... Last night the show was billed as Southside Johnny and the Poor Fools, a more intimate accoustic set. A whole new flavor, still played some of the old favorites, but new stuff too, accompanied by various keyboard, bass, mandolin, trombone, even the occasional banjo… fantasic!! They hung out in the lobby after the show, chatting with peeps and having a good time with a very enthusiastic crowd. All-in-all, highly recommend the Flying Monkey for a show/dinner, and checking out Southside Johnny on tour this summer (with either the Poor Fools or the Asbury Jukes)… PIG http://www.southsidejohnny.com/ http://www.flyingmonkeynh.com/ p.s. a big THANK YOU to ishoot308 for posting the intro to this place Last edited by Pine Island Guy; 05-11-2012 at 04:46 PM.
