Default Belknap Mall

Was at the Belknap Mall tonight shopping at Maurice's, I can't believe how dead that mall is! No stores! It's too bad, that used to be the place to shop when I was small. Is it the rent is too high? Or maybe just nobody goes to the mall anymore. Tanger is always crowded though, so I don't know.

Default Choice and location

I have no idea about the rent but the Tanger Outlet is a better retail venue because it has far more choices and it's easy to get to, even if you are not actually visiting the Tilton area. There are value choices from affordable (Walmart) to affordable high end (Wilson's Leather, Brook's Brothers, etc.). They also have some really good sales around and after the holidays and through the year. There are also a bunch of stores nearby (Lowes, Home Depot, Walmart, Market Basket, Kohl's, Staples, Walgreens, BJ's, VIP Tire, etc.) and a wide variety of dining including Tilton House of Pizza the #1 Pizza place in NH (WMUR).

What's the new addition by the Belknap Mall? A Goodwill store. That should tell you something.

Default Anchor Store and a Facelift

I have been in the area for over 10 years and have only been to the Belknap Mall once to go to DMV to register my boat for the first time about 9 years ago. The mall needs a facelift and a good anchor store that is not relatively close to the Laconia, Belmont area to draw in the consumers such as a Best Buy (although Aarons is across the street) or similar large chain retail outlet.

In the winter, I frequent the Belknap Mall to endure torture sessions at Planet Fatness.

Planet Fatness is like Woodstock...

500,000 people attended woodstock.

1,000,000 people SAY they attended Woodstock.

The difference is that PF keeps getting the $10/month from all the folks who keep thinking "I've got to get back to the gym".

It's so cheap that nobody ever cancels.

I agree it's a great deal. I don't go in the summer. I'd much rather walk where I can see our beautiful lake and mountains. For $10 a month I don't feel bad for the time I don't go. Back in the winter.
