Default Excellent Dining on the South Shore of the Lake

I have not seen any mention recently of two of our favorites:

T-Bones, in Laconia, and the Lyons Den, in Gilford.

T-Bones is part of a very small NH-based chain and their food has always been excellent. They also have an unusually generous frequent diner rewards program. Steaks, fresh seafood, fresh everything- wings, soups, ribs, etc. Good bar and bar crowd as well. Tex-Mex style food downstairs in Cactus Jack's- also good. Overlooks the Lake, next to Friendly's in Laconia.

Lyons Den in Gilford has excellent food and service, as well as a very active bar scene. Their roasted boneless duck is usually one of their regular specials and is outstanding. Hidden away near the Marine Patrol dock. Very accommodating staff and chef.

Default TBones

A buddy & I were trying to decide on a place to eat last week and ended up at T Bones. It was GREAT!! I was very pleasantly surprised! We sat at the bar. I had a pasta primavera dish with haddock. It was really good and large enough that I had leftovers the next day!

Default TBones

Wait till the deck opens. Fantastic sunset views over Paugus Bay!

The West side of the lake has more than its share of fine dining. You can add Partick's, Woodland's and Ellacoya to the list. Laconia has The local Eatery, 405, and Tavern 27.

For consistent service and food, T-Bones/CJ, Patrick's, Lyons Den, Local Eatery and Tavern 27 are the best bets.

My wife is a server at TBones and I can tell you their operation is spot on with consistent food and service.

You know...I was going to say "From my docks fishing, with binoculars, I can look into the dining area of TBones and make sure she's working"...but that's not nice. Can't say the Fountain hasn't buzzed the outside deck while she's serving!

All joking aside, she loves the job and the TBones family. Stop in and say hi to Beth...

My wife and I completely concur in your lists. 405 is the only one we have not yet tried, but we intend to get there soon.

Thanks (we always like someone who agrees with us!).

For some reason, we haven't tried T-Bones or Tavern 27. Others are great. We will rectify that this summer/spring (starting next month) when we're up!

You can never go wrong with T Bones because of the consistency! Just call ahead to be put on the list. Service is always excellent and the food always delicious! And if you're over 55, their rewards program is a big incentive!!

We had the pleasure of finding one of our new favorites when we tried Tavern 27 on Sunday. Outstanding service and food. You are gambling without a reservation. We were lucky enough to meet the owner, Ray, and get the last table available. Hidden jewel for sure!

Default Shibley's at the Pier

Just a bit further South, Shibley's at the Pier is opening 7 days a week starting on this Friday the 18th of April. Love their Rick's Wraps.
