Default How do you get your forecast?

How do you get your forecast? When a chance of a big storm approaches I start by checking with a variety of sources. My first stop is Intellicast.com. First stop there is radar, current loops. This gives me a general idea of what's coming. I don’t really get too excited until the storm is 4 or 5 hundred miles away. Then I will pay attention hourly and see what develops. I watch closely the movement of the fronts. When a storm is about 200 miles away I think the predictions can be counted on. Besides intellicast I go to accuweather.com, channel 9, Mike at Black Cat, and if it’s a real big event I include NOAA too.

Pretty much exactly what you do. I like the radar map on Intellicast.com best. You can change the opacity and see the lake. I place the cursor on my computer right over my house and watch the direction of the storms.....
I can usually tell exactly what the weather will be by simply watching the radar.
Then I like Kevin Skarupa's forecast., He seems to get it right a majority of the time while others on WMUR just copy Kevin's forecast.....

Via the widget on my iMac.

Seriously... I need to know 2 things (1) are the roads safe and (2) how I should dress/prepare the Arglets for the day... Other than that it's info overload to me.

ans to 1: not particularly. ans to 2: have a good breakfast, stay in PJ's, have lunch, dress the Arglets warmly, put a snow shovel in their hands, sit back and watch them shovel...then figure out if you want to change out of your PJ's!

For local broadcast I'm partial to NECN's Tim Kelly and Matt Noyes. I use the best broadcast tool I know on top of that...MY BRAIN. Watch all forecasts and weather/satellite/radar loops and make up my own forecast.

I look at as much weather info I can find. I poke around various websites, watch the TV weather guys (WMUR, WHDH, WBZ, NECN, WCVB). I take all that info and put it into a blender. I pour it into a glass, and take a big swig. Then I come up with my own forecast, which is usually garbage.
