We drove by there this past Saturday morning. (2/20/10) There was a bunch of what appeared to be a large pile of Demolition Debris on the front porch/entry area. I don't know if they would have been open that evening for dinner or not, but it didn't look promising. NB

I hear that they are ripping out a lot of crud in the kitchen, which pleases me to no end. I'm sure the wait will be worth the effort.

From what I have heard, they are shooting to open in the spring. Also, I heard they are doing a bunch of needed renovations.

It will be called Bayside Grill and Bar, the inside looks awesome, some wonderful murals painted by a local artist, I believe the opening is the last week of April

Has anyone heard how the old 51 Mill street is doing? Haven't heard any reports regarding it's opening day. I'd like to think that the new clientel are a little less rowdy. Especially on Friday and Saturday nights.

Default Renamed

Chubbs, 51 Mill Street has been renamed. Please see this thread. http://www.winnipesaukee.com/forums/...ead.php?t=9799

While waiting for my son yesterday at PT in Wolfeboro I walked over to check the place out. It looks great, especially the outdoor seating! Good job Dave and Sheila

Thumbs up

We went twice this weekend actually & I must say it was very good.
Not your typical Pub Food. Everything was good. ( especially the fried clams), service was great. nice and clean... very well run.

Looks like they will be very busy as they were on Friday night already.. great seating at the bar, good place to watch the games too.Say Hi to Toni, (the bartender )

Service is smooth & everyone knowledgable... owners there to see to it...
give it a try... you'll go back... ( Not a tourist trap.. yeah !!! )

Much Luck to the new Owners. Good Job !!!

Dave and Sheila are doing a great job - and the reason things are going so well is clearly expressed by the phrase above "owners there to see to it".

When Garwoods opened, the owners were there; when the Restaurant opened, the owner was there; when the Wolfeboro Inn opened (?) where was the owner (no where to be seen), and the results show it.

Bayside Grille and Pub has a real future.

Thumbs up Bayside - Tried it ... and went back twice more

We tried the Bayside and have been back twice more; renovations gave it a much nicer atmosphere - not so much like a dark pub anymore. I agree with the above comments about the service being smooth and friendly. Everyone I've been there with has enjoyed their meal, so the food seems to be consistently good. Similar menu carried over from Pine Cone but slightly upgraded, less pizza and more full entrees. Reasonably priced - to me it feels like very strong competition for Garwoods ... food not quite as high end (or pricey) as The Restaurant (also not as loud) or Mis en Place. Tried Wolfeboro Inn twice since the renovation and disappointed twice. So overall Bayside is a very good addition to the wolfeboro list of restaurant options!

We tried the Bayside for Friday dinner. The food was great and so was the service. The decor is nice, we sat up near the bar, picking a cool spot after a day at the sandbar. The view from the deck might have won out otherwise.

I had steak tips and she had baked haddock. Both were just right. The server was very friendly and attentive. Price was right around "lake normal" not high end.

The only thing that scares me is the size of the place. I don't know how a town like Wolfeboro supports a resturant that size. It is huge at least 3 times the size of Garwoods. I hope they can survive.

Default Very Good

Wife and I went Thursday night. Very good meal, very good service, good value. Overall, we liked it better than Garwoods, not as much as The Restaurant.

It's hard to believe in these enlightened times, but the Bayside Grille is not wheelchair accessible.

Default handicap problem

The handicap problem is ongoing with that building. The front stairs are slanted and difficult to climb or descend. The stairs on the water side are not as steep but you have to walk around the building. These are still stairs. I guess it depends on how handicapped you are.
I hope the new owners will address this problem.

No matter a person's level of handicap, the Bayside Grille is impassible to wheelchairs.

I forgot about that as we haven't been in so long but the front steps were a real pain in the winter if it was slippery.

Thumbs up Two Fat Thumbs Up

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the new Bayside Grill on Saturday night. Nice open seating, solid menu with something for everyone, great service. We'll certainly be back.

Default Yes to Bayside

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner Sat night also....portions were just right, entres come with salad and veggie....(no bread though)...Very good service..it wasn't very crowded...Prices fair for portions....one suggestion is to add garnishes....white fish, mashed potato on white plates needed color...a lemon slice and parsley or colored plates would have been much more appetizing. Will be back

Default Bayside Grille and Pub (Mill Street)

Today the Bayside introduced a brunch set up with an omelet station (complete with omelets made to order), prime rib carving station (at which you could ask for any thickness you wanted), multiple roll top chaffing dishes with eggs, veggies, bacon, sausage, french toast, potatoes, and fish - all delicious, not to mention the huge platter of pastries and the second platter of cut fruit. Sorry, you have to carry your own plate through the line, but the very pleasant server will bring you your liquids wherever you sit. Speaking of sitting, what's not to like about being outdoors under either an umbrella or tent enjoying nature at its best, unless of course you prefer to sit inside in the air conditioned dining areas.

The brunch is scheduled to be a Sunday regular, 10 AM to 2 PM.

PS: I was a guest, so I don't know the actual price, but I have a feeling it is very reasonable.

We had family members go today for the brunch. I believe it was $12.99 for adults and $6.99 for children. They enjoyed it too.

Default Mmmmmmm

The brunch is fantastic.......$12.99 for unlimited prime rib is good enough....nevermind the chicken, eggs, bacon, omlettes, stuffed sole and much more.

BTW, it looks like the website is up but is still under construction. The menu is available to view and print though.
