Default Need to Rent Boat

Arriving Bear Island Saturday August 1. Our boat is under repair - not sure if it will be working in time. Staying on Bear for 1 week. Usually use Y Landing,, but could use Sheps or other. Boat will not be used for pleasure just to transport family back/forth to Bear and food shopping. Been coming to Bear 48 years - have boating license and responsible. Only I will be driving the boat.

Many marinas around the lake offer boat rentals. One of our advertisers, Anchor Marine at Weirs Beach, is one you should look at.

Default Good luck!

We contacted Anchor last week about renting a boat for 8/1-8/8 (very late on our part!!) and they told us all their boats were rented. So we called around and around and ended up getting a boat through Thurstons. Word of caution though - they would not reserve the boat with a credit card over the phone. We had to send them a money order for a deposit. Guess this is why they still have boats available for rent...

It's more than likely it was because they are charged an additional fee for manually putting the card through by the processing company. As the economy is every dollar count and an extra half to one percent hurts.
