Holy crap it was NICE out there today!
To follow up my "Holy crap it was rough out thread" I had to start this one. This was one of the nicest days all year. We went from Weirs to Wolfeboro up to Meredith and back to The Weirs...beautiful boating day for sure.

I'm jealous!! We are back home in MA and our boat is out of the water. I check the Wolfeboro Bay webcam every day when we are home and it looked perfectly perfect today.

Great night as well.
It was nice this evening as well. We went out just after supper, and went out to the Broads, just off Rattlesnake, to watch the sun set. We then headed back to the dock at Parker's, and were treated to a wonderful moon rise over Wolfeboro. Great day, great night...ah that's why we luv "Upthesaukee".

Why actually I did! I had to use my cell phone to snap this but it was so calm I felt the need. This is heading south with the Witches directly to my right and you can see Rattlesnake straigt ahead in the distance....it's never that calm.

Excellent Day!
My son and I had decided yesterday to go up and out on the lake Saturday. Great choice. What a super day! Sort of summer and autumn in the same day. We left Minge Cove at noon. Noticed the wind was strong from the south. Headed towards Alton. The water was a bit calmer in the bay. From there, we headed up towards Wolefboro, exploring Chestnut and Roberts coves, then up behind Bard Door and over to South Wolefboro Bay. From there over to the town docks but couldn't get close, and probably a dozen boats hovering to secure a spot. Luckily I had packed a picnic so we drifted around in front of Brewster Academy, had our lunch and watched the Mount dock and pick up a ton of sightseers. From Wolfeboro we headed up past Winter Harbor to Cow Island and then headed southwest over past Welch and poked around Smith Cove. Was a little choppy going across the broads but we took our time and the occasional spray felt good. Then we headed south, checked out the little cabin we rent in the summer just past Sleepers Point, passed by Sleepers Island and back to Minge Cove by 4:30. Just an outstanding afternoon!

Wild and Wet
Yesterday [Monday] was one of the wildest days we have seen this season. Waves over three feet rolled past our dock on East Bear Island. Waves crashed against our breakwater creating large "bursts" of spray. As similar strong NW winds were forecast for today, we left the island at 6:30AM just as the wind was picking up. We were treated to a beautiful sunrise over Long Island as we headed in.

Good thing you left. I think today was worse than yesterday.
Thankfully it seems to have abated now. |
