Default New Winni Book

Just saw on Barnes and Noble website a book called "Winnipesaukee Cuisine Presents: Hungry for Summer - Recipes from Island Residents of Lake Winnipesaukee". The website says it's a paperback with a print date of 4/27/10. Has anyone seen this book? It's not at our local B&N, I'd have to order online, but wondered if anyone knew of this book.

Thanks for that info, I wonder if any of the forum's islanders contributed?

I saw a copy at the home decor store above the Wine'ing Butcher in Gilford yesterday. Just had a chance to peek through it quickly but it looks interesting. If you want to see it "live" check it out over there.

Thumbs up Awesome book!

The book is available at Lamb's Ear Yarns (next to Pepi Hermann's crystal) in Gilford. I bought it there and absolutely LOVE it, not just for the recipes but for the funny stories and pictures throughout. I love the cover, too! All the recipes are from island residents. It's really a lot of fun and now sits on our coffeetable!

Just ordered it online from Barnes and Noble. Won't get to the lake until August and couldn't wait. Thanks for the responses.

I'm one of the customers that helped you sell out! Love the book and the store.

I've already picked a few Islands that I plan to develop engine trouble just offshore of this summer... say, just around dinner time.

The storys and pictures of "Island Life" are great.

You have to get the book just to see the receipe called "The Pile", the only this missing in this dish is a coupon for a free angioplasty.

Default Love it!!

I bought 3 copies last weekend at Che Bella and just love the book. My wife cooks during the week at home and I cook at the lake on the weekends. I try to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner on the grill The stories behind the receipt add a special touch to each dish.

Thumbs up Tested Recipes

I do not have, but have heard the book is a success. I do know for a fact that each recipe has been tested by the authors. I have had some of these recipes cooked by the authors and they were wonderful.

Default Hungry for More?

My Name is Jeannette; I am one of the authors of Winnipesaukee Cuisine's - Hungry for Summer. Daryl and I want to thank the 100+ islanders that contributed to this book. We are thrilled by all the wonderfully positive feed back that we've received since the cookbook/storybook was released.

To answer your question of where you can purchase the book in your area:
Laconia – Che Bella Beauty Salon, Annie's Book Stop, The Belknap Mill, LRGH Hospital Gift Shop, Opechee Spa and Inn, Kellerhaus and on the Mount Washington and it's gift shop.
Gilford – Beans and Greens, Ellacoya Country Store, FIN fish market, Lake Style Interiors, Lamb's Ear Yarns, Ames Farm gift shop and Fays Marina.
Gilmanton – The Four Corners Brick House.
Meredith – Longview Country Store, Innisfree Book Store, Cackleberries Garden Center, Shep Brown's Boat Basin, and Y Landing Store
Center Harbor – Bayswater Book Company, Moulton Farms
Moultonboro – Moultonboro Country Store, The Glass Knob,
Wolfeboro – The Country Bookseller, Black's, Butternuts, NH Boat Museum, Libby Museum and Wolfeboro Casuals
Of course you can also purchase the books directly from us at www.winnicuisine.com. Though it will appear on-line in the future, the reason that you have not seen Hungry for Summer available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble to date is because we think it's important to support our local retailers at this time.
Hope you all have a great summer and please visit our website to let us know if you are Hungry for More!!
