Default Loon Chicks

We have two new chicks off Chase Island. What a wonderful sight. I was told by the Loon Preservation patrol that their has been 15 new Loon chick sightings on the lake so far this year. There may be more. Last year there were a total of 8, I was told.
Let's help the Loon Patrol folks out identifying new chicks in your area. They are short staff and any sightings would certainly help them keep tabs on the head count and their location. They would very much appreciate it I'm sure.

We have pictures to post.

Let's hope the two make it. We had two one year and we thought we had it made but no, we lost one. I guess it is very unusual for two to make it.

The annual loon count is scheduled for this this Saturday, the 19th. Lets hope the lake is calm as it makes it easier to see and count them
