Default Wolfboro Webcams

I used to enjoy seeing the Wolfboro webcams especially the one overlooking the public docks. They worked a couple of years ago, then stopped working, then began working only to stop again in Sept 2006. Does anyone know the reason why these webcams stopped working? Thanks.

Time and money, would be my guess.

Any volunteers to remedy the situation?

White Rock:
WOLFECAM is back, once again. You'll need to download Java (if you haven't already) in order to view it.

Default Internet Exploiter

The Wolfecam apparently only works if you use Internet Exploiter.

The Alton Bay Webcam and the ClubCam work fine.

The WolfeCam and WashCam require an Active X to be installed.

No Thanks...

Try it for yourself (click the images at the left sidebar):

This might explain your frustration...

Old website Cam (Wolfeboroonline dot com):
http://wolfeboroonline.com/wolfecam/wolfecam.php

New website Cam (Wolfeboro dot net):

Time and money might have some influence on the subject, as well.

Active X is fine as long as you select only for this site. It does not install any bad things on the confuser. The remote controls for my customers houses all require it and I have never seen it cause a issue. You definitely only want to allow certain web sites that you trust to install it.

Thanks to those that replied. I'm using Firefox as my browser and will consider using IE when necessary.

Always remember that there is a big if in the middle of life, as in, I will not drown; if I am able to tread water until help arrives.

For those who desire to happily enjoy an Active X lifestyle while enjoying life sans IE, here’s some Active X info…

I totally agree with Chris Craft above -- do not fear ActiveX or installing Java on your machine -- I have had it (various versions) through the years on a number of machines and it has never presented a problem ----- I can't say the same for some other downloads that I have inadvertently allowed ..........
