Default Power Squadron offers free boating safety classes 5-5-2012 Wolfeboro Inn

On Saturday May 5th, 2012, at the Wolfeboro Inn (ground level), the Lakes Region Sail and Power Squadron (LRSPS) will be hosting three classes for boaters of all types.

9:00-10:30- Paddle Smart. This focuses on the increasingly popular sports of Canoeing and Kayaking. The first class, offered this past year at the New Hampshire Boat Museum was an overwhelming success. The kayaks used in the demonstration will furnished by Wild Meadow Rentals, Center Harbor.

11:00-Noon - Vessel Safety Systems- This program focuses on systems aboard the boat that the owner can periodically check that will reduce the hazards of explosion, sinking or being stranded. Members of LRSPS have been performing these checks for the past 10 years.

1:00-2:45- Weather Seminar - Something that effects every boater from kayaking to sailor to cruiser. Bring your notebook! When you leave you will be able to “read” the clouds helping to prevent you from being stranded in Braun Bay while the sky is turning black.

The Lakes Region Sail and Power Squadron is hosting these three seminars with the objective of having an accident free boating season. LRSPS is taking a proactive position on boating safety by offering topics not covered in the mandatory boating education classes. We are performing these classes in conjunction with the US Power Squadron District 19 annual meeting which LRSPS is hosting this year.

Because of limited seating, we ask that interested boaters register by calling or emailing Tom at 366-4178 or TRoscoe34@Gmail.com. Please note how many seats you would like to reserve for each class.

Thanks for posting VitaBene. I'd love to see the weather presentation. Do you know if they are going to have other classes?
