Default Looking for boat/driver for hire for tubing

We are renting our Moultonborough home from 7/26 to 8/2 to an extended family consisting of 4 adults and 6 children (ages 9 to 19). One portion of the family is visitng the U.S. from England, and nobody in the family has boating experience. They are interested in getting out on the water and tubing. I have recommended against their renting a boat, given their relative lack of boating experience. I am looking for someone who would be interested in taking some of them out for about 4 hours of boating/tubing on 2 different days during that week for a fee. Our house (w/dock) is in the Salmon Meadow cove area. If you have interest, please contact me and we can discuss a suitable arrangement. Thank you.

Not to ruin your request but the liabilities of doing such a thing are endless.

Default Second Anchor Marine

Two years ago when my nephew (Steven) was up for the first time I surprised him with a 3 hour water skiing, tubing boat ride. I called Anchor and they were very helpful. We got a driver, think his name was Chris, who was very patient and he taught my nephew how to ski. Steven got up on the first try and he was never on skis before. To give Steven a break, Chris took us around and gave us a tour of the surronding island.

It was the highlight of his vacation and he went home to Arizona and talked about it to his friends for weeks and still talks about to this day.

If that is the way you go, I'd call for reservations early.

Default Third Anchor Marine

All the drivers are commercially licensed. They will happy to take you all out.

There is a man named Daryl that has a business, not sure of the name, but he is a boat and captain for hire. He has hourly rates, 1/2 day rates and full day rates. Last year his full day rate was $365. For this he'll drive you around, tube, water ski, wake board, etc. He has all the equipment and knows what he's doing. 603-498-4958

Question Is towing tubes as a favor a problem?

Would it be as much of a major liability issue if someone offers to tow the family on tubes as a favor? Not for rent or for hire but just for fun. Would it make a difference if the tubing family signed some sort of waiver or release to protect the boater from liability claims?

Are boaters that tow non-family members in jeopardy of litigation for any problems other than gross negligence?

It is a sad world but yes, there can be isssues with this, when emotions get involved and the loss of life or pain and suffering can occur. Yes it is very sad, but it could happen

Boy that's a great idea, and not very expensive for what it entails.

Thanks AC for the reply. Remember Sandy Beach you don't know these people at all and they don't know you. I'm not willing to take that chance.
Just to fuel to the fire, I'd be leary of signing that piece of paper at Anchor.
Would there be a clause that said "not responsible for injury". You could fall out of a tube and hit the water just right and injury neck, etc. Things just happen. Yes, there's risks in everything you do but you must be smart about it.
