Default Do you live on/near Geneva Point?

Do you have a cottage near Genvea Point, Moultonborough Neck? Do you plan to visit it before Christmas?

In late September, a boater reported that he hit a rock about 400 yards (1/4 mile) north of Geneva Point. He marked the rock with a milk jug. Unfortunately, he is not sure he will be able to find the rock next spring when the water is higher. The boater was unable to see the milk jug on Thanksgiving weekend because of waves.

I need to know if the milk jug is still there. So if you're up in the vicinity of Geneva Point and you have a pair of binoculars, and the water is calm, could you try and get a visual sighting. If it is still there, I would come to the lake before ice-in and obtain its exact location with triangulation. If you see it, or don't see it, post it here, but I'd prefer a phone call - 888-345-5994.

Thanks - Bizer

Bizer, could you give a little more detail on where the jug is. Looking at your map are you looking out beyond the cove(blue area). Should I look out from the very tip thats in the cove or should I look out from the main land. I think that area is all private property so I don't know how evrybody will like me roaming around. I'm going to be in the area so I may have time to search.

Just ask them which they like better, you finding the rock, or their boat!

About 1000 feet north of Geneva Point, Bizer's chart shows a depth of 21 feet. The rock was reported a bit northeast of this point. (See magenta circle).

I believe that area is mostly private property and I do not want anyone to trespass. I was hoping one or two forum readers might live in that area. I do not know how visible the bay is from the roads.

Default Locating rock w-SSS

I have some diving to do in the spring up in that area. I will contact you as soon as ice is out and look for it with my side-scan-sonar if you can put me in the ballpark. It shouldn't be a problem to locate. Imagine hitting that at speed...

Bizer, was not able to make it Geneva Pt Saturday. I had to much business to take care of plus I was hauling a trailer. I really didn't feel to comfortable going on somebodys property. Who knows these days you might get shot.
