Loon Count

It'll be interesting to see the results of this year's loon count.

Just this week, I saw 10 (ten) loons loitering in front of our place. And they obviously were hanging together often, as their calls echoed around the area all night for several nights. I watched them travel together the other morning for a good mile over the course of an hour -- heading toward some sheltered islands before the boat traffic picked up. Never had we seen so many together in one gathering. Impressive!
