Default Da Bears

Hi all!

This morning hubby and I were getting ready for the day (about 5:15 am) and we heard a loud animal sound from the woods across the street. We determined it was a larger animal as the sound was deep -- it was a cross between a snort and a roar. It continued for several minutes, with about 30 seconds between each snort/roar (is that combination at "snoar?")

At first we thought it was a moose. Hubby did some research online (wild animal audio) and found the sound to be that of a bear.

Pretty nice way to start our day!

Any forum members out there that live near the junction of 11A and 11B know of recent bear spottings?

Default bears r us

We had a bear rip down our bird feeder from the deck last week and drag it out to the front yard where ate the contents. Our neighbors saw it the next day crossing the road behind our house at 5:30 in the afternoon. They said it was a very large bear. This was in Merideth

Default Bears vs Coyotes

This morning at about 3 am we awoke to the sound of what sounded like a good sized pack of coyotes. We estimate they were up to 1/2 mile away.

This summer's sightings of coyotes, hawks, fox and owls is probably why we have very few small mammals in the area (squirrels, chipmunks, etc.).

Has anybody else heard coyotes this summer?
