As painful on the wallet as it was -- Damn I miss Fueling up!

On a serious note .... they are all good kids just trying to make some summer money .... nice gig tho, I use to work the "dead-man"shift in a warehouse when in college

I enjoyed fueling there as well.

On another note:

Those girls should stand up straight! I hope they don't hurt their backs leaning over like that!

Default Come on girls

Not at all sexist! You know it had to be a (dirty old) man that made them pose that way.

The girls crouching down for the group shot seems to be an annual thing, as earliest pic is 2012 in FB album. If the girls were taking their own photo and posting it themselves, I would have no problem. This appears to be a management decision to pose them this way. I'm not impressed with this type of blatant sexism.

My favorite place to gas up. Besides being nice to look at, they are all genuinely nice people.

Nice clean cut looking group!

Young adults without tattoos or rings in their nose is hard to find these days.

They brightened up my day!

You are right! I had to go back and take a second (or was it a third) look. For some reason, the first time I looked at the pictures I failed to focus on the lack of tatoos and nose rings.

I go over there to get gas and I have to say the staff there is always very nice and pleasant to talk to. I find it rather amusing that anyone would find fault with that picture. I suppose if the ladies weren't so attractive then maybe it wouldn't be such a big deal.

All those ladies could very well model for an Anchor Marine calender.

I agree great group of kids.

Never been to Anchor, I'm more over on Irwin.
But this "advertising" is nothing more than trying to say Anchor is the Hooters of marinas.

As the father of three girls, I'll stick with Irwins, more family friendly.

I have to jump in here and add that, with a few exceptions, I am the one who takes the Anchor Marine staff pictures. They have let me run the WeirsCAM there for over 15 years and I help them with their webpage and Facebook page.

The first time we used that pose was 2012 and the kids were the ones that arranged themselves like that. Neither I or anyone in "management" suggested it. It ended up working well and we used it again in subsequent years. Also, the girls have the choice of wearing a tank top or a regular tee shirt when they are working. Almost all choose the tank top. No one is trying to do anything with the pictures other than showing friendly staff members dressed like they are every day.

I posted the picture and a link to the album because I thought you'd all enjoy them, not as an "advertisement".

Don, thanks for that little tidbit... its unfortunate that people these days, always find away to take something innocent and provoke it into something else....

Pictures like this can be found all over the place... and aren't necessarily a sign of anything... This one just happened to be in reference to a business so there are do gooders who are going to jump all over the sexism aspect of them...

Bottom line is Anchor Marine runs a good business... I have never seen any of the young Adults look like they weren't having fun or enjoying a wonderful summer job.

I think everyone needs to remember what it was like to be young....

What a gorgeous group of young adults !

At first glance, I was annoyed the girls were posed in front, leaning over and thought it was very sexist. But after looking again, I've decided they're beautiful young people, who appear to take good care of themselves and are working summer jobs.

As long as they're all OK with the pose (and the photographer says they were) what can I say but carry on - Enjoy being young and continue to work hard. Life is short.

As a high school teacher who has many students keep in touch through Facebook after graduating, I recognize that this is the normal group of girls pose--it just is. What used to be taboo for my generation (I'm not THAT old) is completely normal. And the weirdest thing is that boys are really, really desensitized to sexuality--it's the rule rather than the exception.

Great looking group of kids who, obviously, are happy and collegial.

Thanks Don for clarifying the picture. I made my disclaimer in my post and am vindicated by his statement.

LIfor, "do gooder"? Can't anyone offer criticism without name calling?
And btw, it's there not their.

Great picture! But to be fair, it certainly won't hurt business.

Having an attractive staff is good business. Who wants to be served by someone who looks like they belong in jail?

The running joke in our boat goes like this:

I ask my 17 year old son if we need gas. He looks at the dock gal and says yes or no based on her level of hotness. Sometimes in the Weirs canal we go from not needing gas to being fuel critical in a matter of a few hundred yards.

Yeah, I know...

As the parent of a (will be) 17 year old who will likely be working at a gas dock next year, it is what it is and what they wear is too.
For me,that picture makes me think of summer and that is great

Default Call Gloria Allred

It’s a shame that in our current society we have become conditioned to find victims where there are none. Is the next step for some bottom feeder to contact these women who have been so egregiously harmed so that they can sue whoever has the deepest pockets??

Default Anchor Marine Staff picture

Thanks again, Don, for posting this picture that brings my thoughts back to summer. Please continue this tradition.
What a great group of kids, some start in high school and return year after year even during college summer break. As somebody mentioned, no tattoos or body piercings and their personalities overshadow their youthful good looks. Oh to be young again!!
Some have been in every staff picture that Don has posted.
BTW, my favorite is Kelsey.....she's 2nd from the left, she's also in the 1st staff picture, and will be returning next summer. C'mon ice out!

Great photo. Brings back thoughts of summer. Not unusual to see young adults of this caliber working the gas docks and marinas around the lake. It's always a pleasure interacting with them. Keep up the good work.

What a great picture! That's my daughter second from the right. She loves working the fuel dock in the summer. You are correct about them being good kids. She graduated fourth in her class this past spring at Laconia High and is currently studying Environmental Engineering at UNH.

Default Nice operation...

Bob runs a good, professional marina in a high traffic area.

As for the photos...

All I can think of is that in about thirty years there will be some kids who are going to be staying at the family cottage on the Lake for the summer, and their eyes will go WIDE when grandma smiles and opens up the family album!
