Default first boat ride of 2015

Misty Blue came out to visit us on the island today, guessing he was one of the first on the water for 2015! His registration stickers hadn't arrived, so he was taking a chance hahaha

Anyone else still out on the water? -PIG

Got a picture from friends who went by Ames Farm and there was a pontoon boat at their main dock. Perhaps a Diamond Islander?

I was out the day after Christmas. It was a nice to get out to Bear but I'm done till the ice sets. It's freezing out there blasting across the water this time of year, of course I wasn't exactly dressed for it either. Figure it won't be long till the ice starts to set, the fish finder was reading a water temp of a balmy 36 degrees.

That's some serious jail time for driving on an expired registration

The pontoon at Ames is owned by a good friend who has a place on Rattlesnake. We took a very cold but fun ride out to Sleepers and Rattlesnake to check on camps as we try to do every year after Christmas. We usually have to break ice to get to our camps but didn't have that problem this year. Sure is quiet out there this time of year.

Funny, we didn't have to worry about anyone breaking the 150' rule!!

Default Glendale Docks.

A number of islanders tie up their boats until the ramp starts to freeze. Often I see them breaking the ice in front of the ramp to load their boats!

I believe there is no restrictions to leave your boat tied to the docks after Oct 15. I like to leave my boat there in the past instead of Ames Farm, Diamond Island Landing or even Rattlesnake Island Landing. Glendale has more protection from the weather.

My boat was hauled just before Christmas. I spent the holidays in the Blue Ridge Mountains with family.
