Default Choppy at Weirs?

Took my family and Dad to Weirs Beach yesterday, which was great--absolutely beautiful weather, beginning foliage, first time back to an important childhood place in a long, long time--BUT, is that area always choppy? Boats were getting banged around on the docks whereas the other side of Governor's was wonderfully calm.

Although late in the season - this is quite typical for that area of the lake.

Quite honestly on a sunny Saturday in July it is much busier !

The lake was pretty busy yesterday. I would have to say it was almost as busy as a summer day. Of course we had the boat shows going on in Wolfeboro so maybe that made for more traffic.

yeah, we're at smith point on long island so I get a good view of boat traffic and I'd say yesterday was easily in the top 10 busiest days of the season. today will be quieter and tomorrow dead again!

It wasn't so much busy that surprised me as choppy near the docks--I guess that's a function of all the traffic whereas Center Harbor, Meredith, etc. are a bit more sheltered?

Default One last time

This is probably the last of the warm weekends of the season and people (like us) were out for one last spin around the lake. We went through the no wake zone next to Eagle around six Saturday night and there were eight boats ahead of us. That's busy!

We came up on Friday night and there were a lot of people towing empty boat trailers so I'm guessing they were thinking its time to take their boats home for the season... after one last spin around the lake.

Default No respect

I was out today and can only say that it was like the boat scene from Caddyshack. People all over the place, jumping wakes, sinking sloops. It was like everybody was in a huge hurry to get wherever they were going. I've never, ever seen it that choppy at Sleeper.

Luckily my boat fits under the bridge at Wolfeboro or I'd still be hungry.

Today, Meredith Bay was as rough and choppy as any busy Holiday summer weekend.

The combination of zero wind and a ton of boats made it pretty crazy. I think when there is a little wind it takes some of the energy out of the boat wakes not going with the wind and keeps the chop down a little.

I tried a jet ski ride, but it didn't last long.

I also saw a few sail boats out, but they were getting tossed all over the place.
