I have both, the C-map in a Standard Horizon and the Navionics in a Raymarine handheld. I like the C-map/Bizer chip much better. A friend who is an avid fisherman and guide on the lake likes the Navionics as it gives great bottom contour. I could care less about bottom contour, I am concerned with basic depths, hazards and ease of navigation and the Bizer chip is much more clear and user friendly IMHO.

I have the Navionics chip in a Lowrance and while it is very good, it is not up to the clarity of the Bizer map. So if the C-Map chip is *just* like the Bizer map as I have heard, the C-Map will be easier to use for pure 'getting around'.

The only 'problem' (if it can be called one) with the C-Map chip is it seems to work in far fewer units than the Navionics. (I could be wrong about that, but that's what it seems like from the check on compatible units I did at the C-Map site)
