The pontoon deck sure seems to get shuffled around quite a bit! I thought Trexlers had Crest, but now they have Manitou showing on their website.

Either way, I have heard good things about Crest, but do not have first hand knowledge.

We owned a crest for two seasons and, if Trexler's was still a dealer, we might have looked at them as an option to upgrade. We ended up ordering a Harris because we couldn't stand the Manitou layouts.

Melvin Village will be selling our Crest as soon as we do paperwork for the new boat (I assume), but I'd have no problem recommending the brand.

PS I mentioned this on another thread: every brand has its own building and design philosophy, and every brand believes their philosophy is best--for us, layout, pricing, and dealer support were more important than brand.

thanks for the input we have a manitou now but the crest had a model with a windshield which would make the boat a lot warmer we have had 2 tritoons and one 2 tube pontoon since 1989 and love the tritoon. there are so many brands to pick from as they have become very popular

Looks like Harris has one now, I'd like to check it out at the Chicago show in January. Might be time to upgrade the 230!

Like dominoes,,,, Premier went from Winnisquam to Irwin,, Bennington went from Channel to Winnisquam,,, Crest went from Trex to fill the void at Channel.. No idea who went to Trex.

And the Crest model with the windshield, I need.

Manitou went to Trexler's. They've got a few '16's in their showroom as I type.

Default crest

i think premier has a model with a windshield also. the tritoons have come a long way since our first one in 2001.i will take a look at the boat show this winter. i dont understand why they move from dealer to dealer so often but they have become very popular

The way it was explained to me is that many boat companies are "ruthless" and want dealers to buy, buy, buy. It would make sense giving that Fay's wasn't dedicated to Manitou and that they were open to someone willing to buy more boats.

So then,,

Premier went from Winnisquam to Irwin,, Bennington went from Channel to Winnisquam,,, Crest went from Trex to Channel.. Manitou went from Fay to Trex. Who went to Fay? Or did the music stop and Fay had no chair?

As best I know, Fay's still has the ability to sell Manitou, but they've never really been a big pontoon dealer so neither they nor Trexler's is concerned about the competition.
