Default Ice Breakers

Would anyone know if there are some rules (laws) on barges breaking up the ice during the fall and spring. We have had our dock damaged 4 times in the last 5 years and we just found out that a barge was breaking up the ice prior to the ice melting naturally. This activivty has had a direct result to our dock damage.
Any suggestions would be helpfull.
Thanks

I would think that if your docks damage is due to a direct result of a barge breaking up the ice you have good reason to be upset.

Not sure about any laws being broke, but have you tried talking to the barge owner and showing him pictures of the damage?? He may not realize he is doing any damage...

Good luck!
