Default Anticipation!!!!

I join you both.At last the awaited two weeks will be here tomorrow. The thought of getting a breath of that clean air scented with pines will be real. Going to sleep at night hearing the waves and the loons instead of air conditioning whirr and neighboorhood dogs. Can't wait The only thing we'll miss is the harvest of new jersey tomatoes that will be ready next week. The plants are laden with fruit. May bring some green ones along. Counting the hours

We'll be right there with you next Saturday for the two best weeks of the entire year. As soon as it is over, we start thinking about the next summer. Only thing that keeps me sane down here in Jersey . . . .

Default shortest 2 weeks

The shortest 2 weeks starts in a little more than 1 week. Which by the way is the longest week. Can't wait! Pepper hold a lobsta roll for me, PLEASE!

Thanks. It's entirely my wife's and kid's idea. I'm not a big fan of the books, but I like the name anyway, it fits.

Default Ready or Not Here we come!

Leaving at 4 am tomorrow (Sat) from NJ heading to Bear. Will be there for lobsta roll lunch (if no traffic in CT). Can't wait! Can only stay a week - looks like some rain is moving in. I want every one of you Winnis to blow REAL HARD at the clouds and keep them away! Just in case, have 2 books, 2 decks of cards, and 2 bottles of vodka! Bringing all the grown up kids along too - the family memory making week. Been coming for over 30+ years and still can't wait - feel like a kid in a candy store.

oh, by the way, I don't know how to drive the boat so I'm allowed the vodka!

Buy your Vodka from those pretty liquor stores we put on the highway, it's cheaper than New Jersey.

I think tomorrow will be "change-over day". It's the end of the 2nd block of 2 week rentals and now the first two weeks of August begins. Expect lots of traffic!

Be careful out there! McD

Starting to seriously think about our week in paradise from Aug. 11th through the 18th. We didn't take a vacation last summer, so this one is sure to be extra sweet. The boys are stoked, and little Meredith will be spending her first vacation at and on the big lake. I'm smiling just typing this

Pineneedles...thanks for the compliment, she was about 4 months in that picture. She's actually a Golden.

I love the sign at some of the shops that says
" If you're lucky enough to be at the Lake, you are lucky enough"

Amen...we'll be there by 1700 tomorrow

Default My Favorite Sign

My favorite sign that my sister gave me and is hanging over my mantle is

"I feel more like I do now than when I got here"

It takes a few days ...... but.......... after a few days in this heavenly place.. you "get it"

Default My Favorate Place

We own 5 weeks worth of timeshares.
1 week in Orlando (mistake)
2 weeks in S. Africa (never been, just trades like crazy)
1 week on the Cape (late Sept.)
1 week in Wolfeboro at the Windrifters's Yacht Club.

I look forward to the Windrifter the most! It's on the lake w/ slip for the week.
We bring our 18' pontoon boat with us. We have Memorial Day week. It's nice and quiet during that week. The lake is a little cold for swimming though.

I wonder if Weirs Gal would entertain renaming Weirs Little Gal.....

I hate to say it, but my family and I are off for a week to Washington State for vacation tomorrow. Its funny, you all are coming here, and we all are leaving....

Wink I'm me again

Well, the long awaited and much anticipated week is over. Returned to NJ yesterday. Had a fabulous week of SUPERB weather - thank you all for blowing those rain clouds away. Read a few books. Cooked and ate a lot. Spent time with the grown up kids. It was great. No TV. No makeup. No work. Reconnected with "me". Now back to the grind until next year - but at least that is something I'm lucky to look forward to. Enjoy the lake for all of you waiting to go. the water is WARM and the loons are calling.

Default gods vacation

Those that had their vacations in God's country for the period of 7-27 thru 8-5 had the best weather that can be had, I was there and could not believe it. Water temp aabout 74degrees, air quaility could not be touched, but where were all the boats mon thru fri? I think I saw more kayaks that week then I saw motor boats.

Default It's Over Already

Just returned after a fabulous two week stay from the 29th thru yesterday. Don't think we have ever been in the water as much as this year. What great weather. Now we wait another year and get our lake fix from the cams and the forum. Just wish there was a way to get the clear pine scented air on the web. Now it's back to work and air conditioning (ugh)

Smile The Best Day starts this Friday

We are all ready for our annual two week vacation in beautiful NH which starts at 9:00a. We are loading up the car with the cat and dog this year both for the first time. The grandkids come the second week.

We couldn't get a house on the Meredith side of the lake this year where we usually rent, so we are in Balmoral. Could you give me an idea about community?

We look forward to eating out almost every night and just about everything else. Wish we didn't ever have to leave.

Thanks for all your help.
